On November 26, 2025, in Hanoi, Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) and the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation, marking the beginning of a comprehensive partnership between a pioneering digital bank and one of Vietnam’s leading technology enterprises.

Under this strategic partnership, TPBank and Viettel aim to leverage their technological strengths to set new standards for financial and telecommunications services in Vietnam. As a pioneer in digital banking, TPBank offers Viettel and its ecosystem of customers flexible, automated, and real-time financial solutions. Credit, payment, account management, and digital banking services will be deployed on an open platform, enabling rapid integration, deep connectivity, and continuous expansion through Open Banking and Embedded Banking. When synchronized with Viettel’s digital ecosystem, particularly Viettel Money, the financial services network will become more seamless, faster, and accessible than ever before.

In return, Viettel will partner with TPBank as a strategic technology provider, bringing core capabilities in digital infrastructure, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence to co-develop a next-generation digital banking model. Both parties will optimize operations based on data, automate processes, and build a technology architecture that ensures fast, secure, and scalable transaction processing. Additionally, the integration of Viettel’s logistics, transportation, communication, and technology personnel with TPBank’s digital operational foundation will create a flexible, fast, and scalable operational structure, providing a competitive edge for both organizations in their next growth phase.

A key highlight of the agreement is the shared vision of an open digital ecosystem, where financial services, digital utilities, and telecommunications are seamlessly connected to deliver a “one-touch” experience for users. TPBank and Viettel will continue to explore co-branded products and expand connectivity with lifestyle services, bill payments, e-commerce, public services, and more. This collaboration will not only enhance customer experiences but also contribute to shaping a cashless payment environment, inclusive finance, and pave the way for new advancements in Vietnam’s digital economy.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Do Minh Phu, Chairman of TPBank’s Board of Directors, shared: “This cooperation agreement sets a new benchmark for the strategic partnership between Viettel and TPBank, as the capabilities of both organizations are combined to create greater value for the community. This is not just a fusion of technology and finance, but also a convergence of shared visions for a more modern and humane digital future. We appreciate the trust Viettel has placed in TPBank and believe that the four core values—connectivity, creativity, resilience, and scalability—will continue to guide this collaborative journey. With a pioneering spirit, we expect this partnership to establish new standards for Vietnam’s financial and telecommunications ecosystem.”

Representing Viettel, Mr. Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and CEO of the Group, stated: “Viettel and TPBank are entering a new phase of cooperation, where both parties share strengths and aspirations to integrate technology into daily life in the most accessible and effective ways. The synergy between our ecosystems—from technology and telecommunications to finance and banking—will introduce innovative solutions that deliver tangible value to customers. Trust is the most important foundation for cooperation, and we are confident that this transparent and consistent partnership will yield sustainable and positive outcomes for Vietnam’s digital ecosystem.”

With a long-term vision and strong commitment, TPBank and Viettel anticipate that this strategic partnership will drive new advancements in digital finance, expand access to modern services, and foster the growth of Vietnam’s digital economy. Both parties have also agreed to develop co-branded cards to offer unique benefits and enhance value for customers, while continuing to prioritize resources, expand research into new service models, and maintain deep collaboration to ensure sustainable benefits for customers, businesses, and society as a whole.
