Today, MUJI Vietnam officially announces the reopening of its flagship store on Lê Thánh Tôn street, following a period of renovation, upgrades, and expansion. This store will become MUJI’s largest experiential and shopping space in the country and the third-largest in Southeast Asia, boasting a total floor area of over 3,300 square meters—1.5 times larger than its previous size.

The event also marks the 5th anniversary of the brand’s presence in Vietnam. To date, MUJI Vietnam has expanded its footprint to 17 stores across major cities (Hanoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City).

In the 2025 fiscal year (September 2024 – August 2025), MUJI Vietnam ranks third globally in store network expansion speed, following only MUJI Japan and MUJI China.

Amid the shift in consumer habits from in-store shopping to online purchasing, MUJI Vietnam’s growth to 17 stores nationwide underscores the brand’s strong foundation, recognition, and unique appeal.

MUJI has quietly and diligently observed, listened, and studied the distinct lifestyle, culture, living habits, and space arrangement preferences of Vietnamese consumers to tailor its designs, product compositions, and market approach.

As a result, MUJI Vietnam has partnered directly with numerous local suppliers nationwide to source stable, high-quality raw materials for production. This has led to the creation of several Vietnam-exclusive product lines, including dining and living room furniture made from rubberwood, raincoats and helmets from the MUJI to BIKE collection, and locally sourced agricultural products.

As part of MUJI Vietnam’s near-future plans, Da Nang, a key city in the Central region, has been selected as the next destination, with the goal of reaching 20 retail stores by 2026.

Mr. Tetsuya Nagaiwa, General Director of MUJI Vietnam, speaks at the launch event of the MUJI Lê Thánh Tôn store, marking a new milestone in MUJI’s development journey in Vietnam.

Mr. Tetsuya Nagaiwa, General Director of MUJI Vietnam, stated: “The reopening of the MUJI Lê Thánh Tôn store not only marks a new milestone in MUJI’s development journey in Vietnam but also embodies the spirit of ‘Designed in Japan – Harmonized with Vietnamese Life.’ We don’t bring Japanese designs to Vietnam to keep them unchanged; we aim to understand, adapt, and harmonize with Vietnamese life. This is how we demonstrate our commitment to sustainable development in Vietnam, alongside the Vietnamese people. Through our efforts in researching lifestyle characteristics, collaborating with local farmers and suppliers, we will continue developing products exclusively for the Vietnamese market, contributing to the spread of positive values and building a brighter future for everyone.”
