Toyota Vietnam’s official Facebook page hinted at a new variant of an upcoming vehicle last night (November 28). The teaser image prominently features the letters “INN…”, strongly suggesting the Innova Cross will gain an additional version. Previously, several Toyota dealerships revealed that the Innova Cross would introduce a more affordable variant, aligning with this announcement.

Additionally, emerging details about this variant’s specifications have sparked considerable interest. The budget-friendly Innova Cross is likely to be named the 2.0G, positioned below the 2.0V and 2.0HEV models. This suggests it will share the same engine as the 2.0V: a 2.0L gasoline unit producing 172 horsepower and 205Nm of torque, paired with a front-wheel-drive system and a CVT automatic transmission.

In terms of exterior design, the vehicle retains LED headlights and taillights but omits daytime running lights. The 2.0G variant is expected to feature 16-inch wheels, compared to the 17-inch wheels on the 2.0V and 18-inch wheels on the 2.0HEV.

The most significant differences in the budget-friendly Innova Cross lie in its interior features. Compared to the 2.0V, it features an analog instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch TFT screen instead of a 7-inch display, a non-leather-wrapped steering wheel without paddle shifters, manually adjustable driver’s seat, an 8-inch central touchscreen instead of 10.1 inches, manual tailgate operation, a reverse camera instead of a 360-degree camera, and no tire pressure monitoring system.

Furthermore, the 2.0G variant will lack features absent from the 2.0V, including a sunroof, Toyota Safety Sense suite, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Despite being the entry-level model, the Innova Cross 2.0G still offers notable features such as adaptive cruise control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, automatic climate control with rear vents, eight front and rear parking sensors, and six airbags.

The pricing for this model remains undisclosed. According to a reliable source, it may even undercut the previous Innova E MT, potentially priced below 755 million VND. As of now, Toyota Vietnam has not confirmed details about this new Innova Cross variant.
