This detail almost confirms the upcoming addition of a new variant to the Toyota Innova Cross lineup, aligning with recent leaks.

Currently, the Innova Cross is available in two versions: the gasoline-powered Innova Cross V priced at 825 million VND and the hybrid Innova Cross HEV at 1.005 billion VND. These high prices make it challenging for service-oriented customers—who previously favored the Innova E MT—to access the vehicle.

Thus, the introduction of a more “affordable” variant, expected to range between 750-755 million VND, is seen as a strategic move to fill the gap in the service-oriented MPV segment.

Insider sources suggest the new variant will likely be named Innova Cross 2.0G, positioned below the existing 2.0V and 2.0HEV models.

In terms of powertrain, the Innova Cross 2.0G is expected to retain the 2.0L gasoline engine, delivering 172 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, similar to the 2.0V variant. It will feature an automatic transmission, a significant upgrade from the manual gearbox of the previous Innova E MT.

As the standard model, the Innova Cross 2.0G will have streamlined features. The exterior will include LED headlights and taillights but omit daytime running lights. The wheels will be reduced to 16 inches, compared to the 17 and 18 inches on higher trims.

The interior will also see notable reductions: an analog instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch TFT screen (replacing the 7-inch digital display), a non-leather steering wheel, manually adjustable driver’s seat, an 8-inch infotainment screen, manual tailgate, and only a reverse camera without tire pressure sensors. Features like a sunroof, Toyota Safety Sense, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are unlikely to be included.

The new variant is anticipated to reintroduce the Innova Cross to its traditional customer base—transportation service providers—who played a pivotal role in establishing the model’s reputation in Vietnam.

The standard Innova Cross variant is rumored to launch in December, with deliveries commencing before the Lunar New Year.
