On November 29, the Project Management Unit (PMU) for Traffic Construction Investment in Hue City announced that the coastal road and the Thuan An Sea Bridge project has reached approximately 90% of its total construction value, with full completion expected by the end of 2025.

According to reports from the project contractors (Dat Phuong Group JSC, Tan Nam Construction JSC, and Hoa Binh 479 JSC), the Thuan An Bridge is now complete, with only drainage installation, final touches, and site cleanup remaining.

Sections 1A and 1B (the bridge’s connecting roads) have completed road foundations, slope reinforcement, drainage systems, and partial asphalt paving. Current efforts focus on laying the asphalt concrete layer, aggregate base, and finalizing infrastructure.

Progress to date: Dat Phuong Group JSC at 89.2%, Tan Nam Construction JSC at 88.8%, and Hoa Binh 479 JSC at 98%.

The PMU notes that while key project milestones are on track, full route opening awaits approval from competent authorities due to ongoing work on Hoang Sa Street (near the 1B connector). Additional requirements include surveillance cameras, bridge lighting, sidewalk completion, and drainage enhancements to ensure safety and quality.

The Phase 1 coastal road and Thuan An Sea Bridge project spans 7.8 km with a total investment of VND 2.4 trillion. The 2.36 km Thuan An Bridge is the longest sea-crossing bridge in Central Vietnam.

Section 1A (from National Highway 49B – Tam Giang Bridge, Thuan An Ward) is 3.24 km long. Section 1B (ending at National Highway 49A – 49B junction, Thuan An Ward) is 2.19 km long, featuring a 26m width with lanes, medians, sidewalks, lighting, and drainage.

Thuan An Bridge uses an Extradosed design, with reinforced concrete pile foundations, cantilever casting, Super T beams, asphalt surfacing, corrosion-resistant railings, and decorative lighting.
