The Hai Phong Ring Road 2 project (Tan Vu – Hung Dao – Bui Vien section) is a special-class transportation project launched by Hai Phong City in March 2025. Spanning 11 kilometers, this road has received over 7 trillion VND from the city’s budget.
The project comprises three main components, with the Hai Thanh Bridge over the Lach Tray River connecting Hung Dao Road (former Duong Kinh District) to the Tan Vu Intersection (former Hai An District) being a critical element.
The section from Tan Vu Intersection to Hai Thanh Bridge and from Hung Dao to Bui Vien is designed with a width of 37 meters, featuring 8 lanes and a 5-meter median strip.
According to the Hai Phong Project Management Unit for Transportation and Agriculture, the contractor consortium is accelerating the construction of various packages and components. Specifically, the section from Lien Phuong Road Intersection to Hai Thanh Bridge has mobilized over 330 workers and engineers, along with 54 primary pieces of equipment, operating in three shifts daily.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Road 353 component connecting to Hung Dao Road (former Duong Kinh District) is designed with a width of 68 meters, featuring 8 lanes, a 23-meter median strip, and 15-meter sidewalks.
Authorities have implemented one-way traffic restrictions on Provincial Road 353 to clear the construction site, ensuring safety during the construction of the bridge and its approach roads.
Workers are constructing the approach road from Hung Dao to Hai Thanh Bridge. This area includes the old Hung Dao Road and an expanded section, with a total width of 68 meters. The construction team has installed barriers and reflective warning tapes to alert vehicles near the work site.
Workers are spraying water to control dust in certain construction areas, minimizing air pollution in nearby residential zones.
Hai Phong’s Ring Road 2 is a pivotal project with significant socio-economic implications, driving urban development and economic growth. Upon completion, it will enhance the city’s infrastructure framework, particularly in Duong Kinh, Hai An, and Kien An districts. This project will facilitate the development of new urban areas, foster modern urban planning, and attract both domestic and international investment. Additionally, it will reduce travel times from seaports to National Highways 5 and 10, further boosting connectivity and efficiency.
