On the morning of November 29th, Northwest Investment Group Joint Stock Company, Kajima Vietnam Co., Ltd., and AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. jointly hosted the groundbreaking ceremony and infrastructure construction launch for the AEON My Tho Shopping Center.
During the event, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu noted that on June 10th, the People’s Committee of Tien Giang Province (now Dong Thap Province) collaborated with Northwest Investment Group and AEON Vietnam to hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tien Giang Province Trade and Service Center project and issued the Investment Registration Certificate. After four months, thanks to proactive coordination among departments, local authorities, and investors, the project has met all conditions to commence earthworks and proceed with subsequent phases.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Dieu expressed confidence that, with the reputation and professionalism of the contractor, the project would be completed swiftly and to high standards, meeting the shopping needs of residents and boosting local trade, services, and socioeconomic development. He affirmed the province’s continued support to ensure the project’s smooth implementation as planned.
Mr. Dieu also encouraged AEON Vietnam to collaborate with local authorities in developing procurement plans to integrate the province’s products into AEON’s supply chain.

The Tien Giang Province Trade and Service Center project is located at Hung Vuong Square (Dao Thanh Ward), covering a total area of over 3 hectares (30,000 m²), including residential and commercial land. The project received investment approval from the Tien Giang Provincial People’s Committee (now Dong Thap Province) in April 2024.
After winning the land auction, Northwest Group transferred approximately 2 hectares (20,000 m²) of commercial land to AEON Vietnam for the construction of the shopping center, with a total investment of approximately VND 1,155 billion.
The project not only holds significant economic and trade value but also promises to become a bustling commercial hub, contributing to the creation of a modern, civilized, and internationally integrated living space for Dong Thap Province in the future.
