Observations from VTC News at the Eastern Ho Chi Minh City construction site reveal that the 14.7km stretch from packages XL1 to XL3 is nearly complete. Contractors are accelerating final tasks to meet the technical clearance deadline of December 19th.

At package XL3, the bridge sections crossing Vinhomes Grand Park are fully connected, forming an elevated thoroughfare above the residential area.

Contractors are diligently finalizing remaining components to ensure compliance with the Ministry of Construction’s technical clearance requirements.

From Vinhomes Grand Park to package XL2, work on guardrails, medians, and auxiliary infrastructure is progressing simultaneously. Notably, noise and dust barriers are being installed to minimize environmental impact once the road becomes operational.

At package XL2, construction is proceeding urgently, with maximum manpower and machinery deployed to meet deadlines.

Workers at package XL2 are divided into teams, focusing on installing guardrails and completing remaining tasks at pillars 90 and 83. The site is bustling with machinery and materials, with elevated sections clearly taking shape, reflecting efforts to meet technical clearance deadlines.

Nguyễn Minh Tân, a worker at package XL2, confirms that main components are complete and ready for technical clearance. Today, the team is installing beams at pillars 82 and 83 to connect the entire route with packages XL1 and XL3, ensuring seamless passage through Vinhomes Grand Park.

Alongside the elevated highway, the parallel road is also under simultaneous development. Contractors are utilizing machinery and equipment to expedite progress.

At package XL1, only about 3 bridge spans remain to be installed, with the rest of the elevated road seamlessly connecting to package XL2.

Package XL1 is a critical component, linking Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, and plays a pivotal role in completing the elevated road.

According to the Ministry of Construction, by December 19th, technical clearance will be granted for several sections totaling 29.2 km out of 70.1 km. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City will open 14.7 km of elevated road in the former Thu Duc area; Dong Nai will open 5 km; the former Binh Duong area will open 3.1 km; and the former Long An area will open 6.4 km.

In addition to the technically cleared sections, another 37.1 km of the route is under construction. This includes 32.6 km in the former Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, and Binh Chanh districts of Ho Chi Minh City; 4.5 km in the former Binh Duong area; and 2.4 km at the Tan Van intersection and 1.32 km at the Binh Chuan intersection, which are ongoing.

The entire 70.1 km route is expected to be technically cleared by April 30, 2026, and fully operational, including the parallel road, by June 30, 2026.

The total length of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 is 76.3 km, spanning the new Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh, with a total investment of 75.378 trillion VND. According to the investor, 10 main construction packages are on track, with maximum resources mobilized to compensate for delays caused by material shortages, infrastructure relocation, and contractor slowdowns, ensuring completion by mid-2026.
