On December 2nd, as reported by Tien Phong journalists, Mimosa Pass (Xuan Truong Ward, Da Lat, Lam Dong) saw a bustling flow of vehicles.
Previously, on November 18th, the entire slope segment from Km 226+600 to Km 226+800 on Mimosa Pass collapsed, sliding downstream.
By November 20th, the entire road foundation and surface fractured, creating a 30-meter-deep crater and sliding 50 meters downhill, completely severing Mimosa Pass.
Immediately, the investor convened an emergency meeting with Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, opting to construct a temporary road on the uphill slope.
The temporary road, paved with asphalt and 8 meters wide, meets standards for two separate lanes.
By 6 PM on November 30th, traffic resumed on Mimosa Pass after days of suspension for landslide repairs.
Repairs and restoration efforts continue at the landslide site on the pass.
Trees surrounding the landslide area fell en masse.
Long-term plans include Project Management Unit 85’s proposal to the Ministry of Construction for a 109-meter-long, 9-meter-wide elevated bridge with deep-seated pile foundations spanning the landslide area.
