Looking ahead, to ensure the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park becomes a cherished spiritual asset that endures alongside the friendship between the two nations, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Chí Dũng urged relevant agencies to continue allocating appropriate resources, enhancing management, and coordinating the operation and exploitation of the project to meet the expectations of both peoples.

At the ceremony, Thongsalith Mangnomek, Head of the Office of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, stressed that Laos and Vietnam are close neighbors with a special traditional friendship cultivated by Presidents Kaysone Phomvihane, Souphanouvong, and Hồ Chí Minh, becoming a priceless legacy passed down through generations.

He affirmed that the park is not only a symbol of the two nations’ relationship but also a venue for cultural activities, recreation, sports, and a playground for youth, serving as an educational space for future generations to learn about the traditions of Laos and Vietnam.

On behalf of the Central Committee, Government, and people of Laos, Thongsalith Mangnomek expressed gratitude to the Party, Government, and people of Vietnam for their contributions of intellect, resources, and funds to this historically significant project.

The Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park spans over 30,000 square meters, with an investment of more than 340 billion VND, including 330 billion VND in non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government and 9 billion LAK (equivalent to over 10 billion VND) in matching funds from the Lao Government.

This iconic project is a cultural and spiritual gift from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to their Lao counterparts, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Lao National Day and celebrating the National Congresses of both Parties.

Strategically located in an area planned to become a major urban center of Vientiane, with a modern cultural-ecological design and landscapes reflecting the identities of both nations, the park is not only a community service facility but also a vivid symbol of the loyal, steadfast, and unique relationship in world history.
