In a recent development regarding the case of Mr. Do Van Huu, who mistakenly built a house on land owned by Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan in Thien Huong Ward, Hai Phong City, Ms. Loan shared with the Lao Dong newspaper that Mr. Huu’s family has relocated the house from her land. The mistakenly constructed house is now being moved to its correct position on Mr. Huu’s land.
Ms. Loan, the landowner, further stated that her family has submitted a petition to the People’s Committee of Thien Huong Ward, requesting Mr. Huu to restore the land to its original condition. The family also asks the authorities to confirm the handover of the land and related assets between the two parties.

This update has garnered significant public attention. Many hope that the two families can resolve their differences, put the past behind them, and become harmonious neighbors living in peace.
Previously, in October 2025, Mr. Huu expressed his intention to purchase the land where the house was mistakenly built, and Ms. Loan agreed. However, the deal fell through due to disagreements over the payment method. Mr. Huu then decided to hire “miracle worker” Hoang Dinh Bach to move the house to its correct location.
Mr. Bach began the relocation process in late October. Initially estimated to take 40 days, the project may require more time due to the need to excavate the house’s foundation.

Speaking to VietNamNet, Mr. Bach mentioned that after relocation, the roof overhang of the house may slightly extend beyond Mr. Huu’s legal land boundary. However, this area was voluntarily donated by the previous owner for a pathway, so it poses no issue.
In September 2024, Ms. Loan purchased two adjacent plots of land in Ward 7, Kien Bai Commune, Thuy Nguyen District (now Thien Huong Ward, Hai Phong City) with the intention of building a house. By November 2024, she discovered that one of the plots had been mistakenly built upon by Mr. Huu.
Despite repeated requests from Ms. Loan’s family and local authorities to halt construction and return the land, Mr. Huu continued to complete the project. He claimed the mistake was due to incorrect guidance from a land broker, as his actual land purchase was four plots away. Unable to reach an agreement, Ms. Loan filed a lawsuit with the competent People’s Court.
On August 11, 2025, the Hai Phong District I People’s Court ruled in favor of Ms. Loan, ordering Mr. Huu to remove his assets, demolish the structure, and return the land. However, Mr. Huu appealed the decision instead of complying. He later withdrew his appeal entirely.
Subsequently, Mr. Huu filed a complaint with the Hai Phong City Police against individuals involved in the land transaction in Ward 7, Kien Bai Commune, Thuy Nguyen District.
