On the afternoon of December 2nd, despite being busy with her business, Mrs. Thuong (a trader at Nguyen Tri Phuong Market, Dien Hong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) took the time to experiment with a voice-activated sales software.
At Nguyen Tri Phuong Market, dozens of traders received hands-on guidance from the Dien Hong Ward Market Management Board, local tax officers, bank representatives, and software providers to familiarize themselves with the tax declaration software.
“Belts for 50,000 VND, sandals for 100,000 VND…” – Mrs. Thuong spoke into the microphone on her phone, which was equipped with tax declaration software. After stating the prices, she clicked on the tax declaration tab, added a new declaration, and the system instantly recorded the data, automatically submitting it to the tax authorities directly through the software interface.
“It’s truly surprising! When I mention the price of an item, the information immediately appears on my phone. With just two more clicks, the tax declaration is complete,” Mrs. Thuong shared.
Mrs. Dam Van, Deputy Head of the Dien Hong Ward Market Management Board, stated, “Most traders have embraced the change. However, many elderly traders still face challenges in adopting new technology. We are committed to patiently guiding them step by step.”
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Gon, who has been selling clothing at the market for over 40 years, admitted that due to her age, she feels overwhelmed by the current digital transformation. She affirmed that as this is a government initiative, she will rely on her children and grandchildren for guidance and support.
To address these challenges, the sales software introduced in the program is designed to be user-friendly, supporting voice commands. This allows elderly traders to manage their sales and issue electronic invoices instantly, even sending them to customers via Zalo. “This completely eliminates the need to pause sales for manual record-keeping as in the past,” Mrs. Dam Van explained.
According to the Dien Hong Ward Market Management Board, approximately 30% of traders have participated in the digital transformation. The market’s primary goal is to achieve 100% tax declaration compliance by January 2026. Implementing this software not only helps businesses maintain financial transparency and effectively manage profits and losses but also enables the management board to monitor and provide timely support.
