The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has approved Khang Dien House Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company’s proposal to sponsor and execute the renovation of Le Loi Street in Saigon Ward and Ben Thanh Ward, as recommended by the Department of Construction.

The construction will take place from December 5 to December 30, 2025.

Le Loi Street to Get a Makeover Starting December 5

The renovation scope includes Le Loi Street and Lam Son Square. The project will enhance the facades of buildings from Ben Thanh Market to Rex Hotel, the former Hoang Long Restaurant area, and the apartment building at 9 Lam Son Square. It will also involve upgrading the sidewalks on both sides and the median strip of Le Loi Street.

For the building facades, the plan includes removing moss and bushes, repainting the fronts of structures along Le Loi Street, and selecting colors to create a harmonious overall appearance for the entire street.

Signs and advertisements will be rearranged appropriately, placed on the ground floor of buildings without obstructing windows. Roofs and sides of buildings will be repainted, especially where adjacent buildings have different heights.

The median strip will be paved with stone and lined with granite to enhance aesthetics and consistency with the overall landscape. Colorful shrubs will be added for vibrancy. Sidewalks along Le Loi Street will be paved with granite to match the unified landscape design.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has tasked the Department of Construction with leading the coordination efforts alongside the People’s Committees of Saigon Ward and Ben Thanh Ward, and Khang Dien House Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company to implement the renovation of Le Loi Street according to Khang Dien’s proposed plan.

The People’s Committees of Saigon Ward and Ben Thanh Ward will lead the effort, in collaboration with the Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Architecture, Department of Culture and Sports, and Khang Dien, to gather consensus from individuals and organizations owning properties on Le Loi Street regarding the facade renovation design. This ensures the project begins on December 5 as scheduled.

The Department of Culture and Sports will work with the People’s Committees of Saigon Ward and Ben Thanh Ward to minimize cultural and sports events on Le Loi Street during the construction period.

The City Police Department will direct relevant units to support the People’s Committees of Saigon Ward and Ben Thanh Ward, along with other departments, in gathering opinions from property owners on Le Loi Street. They will also ensure security, public order, and traffic safety during construction.

The Department of Construction considers Le Loi Street a major thoroughfare in Ho Chi Minh City’s central area. It is a hub for large events and a popular destination for domestic and international tourists, representing the city’s image.

Renovating the facades of buildings along Le Loi Street, as well as the median strip and sidewalks, will bring a fresh, modern, and dynamic look to the street, gradually enhancing the urban landscape.

Khang Dien House Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company’s sponsorship and execution of the Le Loi Street renovation are both necessary and commendable. This initiative encourages social investment in urban landscape architecture improvement, aligning with the city’s overall development.
