As reported by VTC News, the An Phú Interchange project in Ho Chi Minh City entered its acceleration phase in early December. Fresh concrete pours and extending steel beams mark the progress, revealing the emerging structure of this vital transportation hub.
The N2 bridge section under package XL11 has successfully connected its spans, forming a complete link from the HCMC-Long Thanh Expressway to Mai Chí Thọ Avenue. This milestone allows the contractor to proceed with finishing touches.
This section is over 60% complete, with simultaneous work across three fronts. The contractor aims to finish and open the N2 bridge for technical traffic by December 31, 2025.

Along Mai Chí Thọ Avenue, the HC1-02 underpass (package XL6) site has expanded, with its basic structure largely complete. The tunnel sections are clearly defined, and work is shifting to technical finishing.
The 760-meter underpass, designed for four lanes of two-way traffic, is over 75% complete. It’s scheduled for completion and operation by January 15, 2026.
At the Đồng Văn Cống connection, piers for the N3 and N4 bridges are being completed in segments, paving the way for beam installation in the coming months.
On Mai Chí Thọ Avenue, the N1.1 and N1.3 bridges for left turns onto the expressway are under simultaneous construction, further defining the project’s overall structure.
These components are expected to be completed by June 30, 2026, aiming to ease traffic congestion on routes to Cát Lái Port and eastern urban areas while enhancing regional connectivity.
The An Phú Interchange, a major project with a total investment of approximately 3.4 trillion VND, began construction in 2022.
The project includes overpasses, underpasses, and ramps, directly connecting the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway with Mai Chí Thọ Avenue and Đồng Văn Cống Street.
Located at Ho Chi Minh City’s eastern gateway, the An Phú Interchange connects the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway and Long Thanh Airport. Its completion is crucial for improving traffic flow and reducing congestion in this critical area.
