Today’s Coffee Prices (Dec 5): Breaking the Downtrend with Positive News from the Top Market

Coffee prices rebounded today, with both Robusta and Arabica experiencing gains, except for a nearby delivery contract in Robusta.

In the overnight trading session ending on December 5th (Vietnam time), Robusta coffee prices on the London exchange rose by 12-20 USD/ton, except for the January 2026 contract, which fell by 13 USD/ton. Arabica coffee prices on the New York exchange increased by 1.75%-1.86%.

Coffee Prices Surge, Average Export Price Reaches 5,668 USD/ton

Specifically, the January 2026 Robusta contract dropped by 13 USD/ton to 4,302 USD/ton, while the March 2026 contract climbed by 20 USD/ton to 4,232 USD/ton. The March 2026 Arabica contract surged by 140 USD/ton to 8,350 USD/ton.

Domestic coffee prices today may see a slight increase from 103,500 VND/kg before the London session begins.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, coffee exports in the first 11 months of 2025 reached 1.4 million tons, valued at 7.88 billion USD, up 14% in volume and 60% in value compared to the same period last year.

The average export price of coffee in the first 11 months of 2025 is estimated at 5,668 USD/ton, a 40% increase year-on-year.

Vietnam Increases Coffee Market Share in Germany

Germany Reduces Brazilian Coffee Imports, Boosts Vietnamese Purchases

Germany, Italy, and Spain are Vietnam’s top three coffee consumers, accounting for 13.3%, 7.8%, and 7.4% of the market share, respectively. In the first 10 months of 2025, coffee exports to Germany surged by 95% in value compared to the same period last year.

Data from the International Trade Centre (ITC) up to August 2025 shows that Germany imported 782,800 tons of coffee globally, a 1.8% decrease year-on-year.

Among the top five coffee suppliers to Germany, imports from Brazil fell by 25%, reducing Brazil’s market share from 39% to 30%.

Vietnam, the second-largest coffee supplier to Germany, saw a 12% increase in volume, raising its market share from 21% to 24%. Coffee consumption in Germany is expected to remain stable in 2025.

Experts advise Vietnamese businesses to focus on high-value products such as premium coffee, deeply processed coffee, certified coffee, and specialty coffee, while maximizing the benefits of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
