According to Mr. Tran Van Lau, Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, on the afternoon of December 3rd, the province has selected three large-scale projects for groundbreaking and inauguration. These projects aim to boost local and regional socio-economic development.

Location of Dinh Khao Bridge construction

Among these, the Dinh Khao Bridge project stands out as the centerpiece. With a total investment of over VND 2,852 billion, the project is implemented through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, replacing the frequently overloaded Dinh Khao ferry. The bridge and road route spans over 4 km, including a 4-lane main bridge across the Co Chien River designed for a maximum speed of 80 km/h. It connects Provincial Road 902 (Nhon Phu Commune) with National Highway 57, creating a seamless transportation axis between Vinh Long and neighboring provinces.

Secretary Tran Van Lau emphasized that upon completion, the Dinh Khao Bridge will eliminate congestion at the existing ferry, reduce travel time, lower transportation costs, and enhance goods competitiveness. The project is also expected to promote trade, develop industry and services, and expand the province’s urban space.

Additionally, Vinh Long will commence construction of a social housing project in the administrative and residential area of Long Chau Ward, addressing the housing needs of workers. The province also plans to inaugurate the infrastructure project of the Phu Thuan Industrial Park, enhancing its investment attraction capabilities.

Local authorities believe these projects will lay a crucial foundation for Vinh Long’s rapid development during the 2025–2030 period, improving regional connectivity and logistics capacity for the entire Mekong Delta region.
