On the evening of December 5th, the VinFuture Awards 2025 officially took place at the Hoan Kiem Theatre in Hanoi, Vietnam. The prestigious VinFuture Grand Prize, valued at $3 million, was awarded to “Groundbreaking Research and Development of HPV Vaccines for Preventing Human Papillomavirus-Induced Tumors.” This honor was bestowed upon four American scientists: Dr. Douglas R. Lowy, Dr. John T. Schiller, Dr. Aimée R. Kreimer, and Prof. Maura Gillison.
The three VinFuture Special Prizes celebrated remarkable achievements in: “Innovations in Developing Self-Reproducing Hybrid Crops”; “Discovery of the BRCA1 Gene Linked to Breast and Ovarian Cancer Risks”; and “Advancements in Tropical Microbial Ecology and Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation Mechanisms.”
The four honored projects at the VinFuture Awards 2025 were selected from over 1,700 outstanding nominations across more than 70 countries and territories worldwide.
Beyond the scientific accolades, the VinFuture Awards 2025 captivated audiences with stunning artistic performances by global icon Alicia Keys and Vietnamese sensation Duc Phuc. The event also showcased exclusive, memorable moments featuring the family of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong.
