The Cuong Nhượng Fishing Port, inaugurated in early 2024, officially commenced operations on November 20th. With a total investment of 280 billion VND, this state-of-the-art facility spans 5 hectares and meets the criteria for a Grade II fishing port as per the Fisheries Law. It stands as one of the most modern fishing ports in Central Vietnam.

Designed to accommodate Grade II fishing port standards, the port can handle vessels with up to 400CV, allowing 100 vessel entries per day and processing approximately 16,000 tons of seafood annually.

The port features a 270-meter dock, with 150 meters dedicated to 400CV vessels and 120 meters for vessels under 150CV. The navigation channel ensures safe entry and exit for vessels at all times.

Upon arrival, seafood is transported to a 2,400 m² sorting area. The port’s integrated facilities ensure a seamless process for receiving, sorting, and transferring seafood.

The project includes additional features such as inland waterway signaling systems, embankment construction, internal roads, lighting systems, an operations center, and offices for inspection personnel.

Since its opening, the port has seen a steady increase in vessel traffic, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the area.

Freshly caught seafood is directly purchased and traded at the port, reducing transit time and enhancing product value. This has significantly improved fishermen’s income and market stability.

According to Thiên Cầm commune authorities, the port not only meets essential fisheries infrastructure needs but also ensures vessel safety, boosts product consumption, and enhances fishermen’s livelihoods.

Beyond its economic impact, the Cuong Nhượng Fishing Port is expected to boost Thiên Cầm’s coastal tourism. The integration of maritime economy, fisheries logistics, and tourism will drive new development, fostering Hà Tĩnh’s socio-economic growth.
