Recently, Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) has received numerous alarming reports from customers regarding sophisticated scams, particularly targeting scratch card lotteries. In response, Vietlott has issued an urgent official notice, urging players to heighten their vigilance to protect personal assets and avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
Vietlott’s notice reveals that scammers are employing intricate tactics, creating a web of fake information to deceive the public. Common methods include:
Unofficial Livestreams: Fraudsters organize scratch card lottery livestreams on social media channels not affiliated with Vietlott. They fabricate an illusion of transparency and frequently announce “winning prizes” to attract attention.
Brand and Fanpage Impersonation: Scammers create fanpages with fake verification badges, a tactic increasingly difficult to detect. They proactively contact customers via inbox, impersonating “Vietlott” to announce large prize winnings.
Advance Fee Requests: The final step and primary goal of the scam. After announcing a win, fraudsters demand customers pay taxes, processing fees, or account verification fees via bank transfer.
In light of these schemes, Vietlott—a 100% state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Finance—categorically asserts: All requests for advance payments to claim prizes are fraudulent.
Furthermore, Vietlott never contacts customers via messages, inbox, or phone calls to collect any fees related to prize claims. Prize claims are processed transparently, with no requirement for upfront payments.

Cross-Reference Information: Compare details with Vietlott’s official and sole fanpage.
How to check Facebook page creation date to avoid impersonation.
