On the morning of December 6th, in an interview with Tien Phong, Mr. Nguyen Duy Thong, manager of Beef Hotpot 999, acknowledged the customer’s complaint about finding maggots in the beef. According to Mr. Thong, the incident occurred around 7 PM on December 5th, when a table of two (one male, one female) reported finding maggots in their beef. Upon receiving the complaint, Mr. Thong immediately conducted an inspection.
“Upon inspection, it was determined to be a ‘natural defect’ in the beef, not maggots,” Mr. Thong asserted in the Tien Phong interview.
Mr. Thong claims it was a ‘natural defect’ rather than maggots in the beef.
On the afternoon of December 6th, regarding the customer’s complaint about maggots in the beef at Beef Hotpot 999, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of Hai Ba Trung District People’s Committee (Hanoi), stated that the Department of Culture and Society had been instructed to collaborate with the Hai Ba Trung District Police to investigate the matter.
Subsequently, the Department of Culture and Society reported that they had worked with the Hai Ba Trung District Police and health authorities to inspect the premises, file a report, and temporarily suspend the restaurant’s operations.
