The conference aims to forge a strategic alliance among the Government, Scientists, and Businesses to foster innovation and sustainable development in the digital era.
The Triad of Development for the Innovation Ecosystem
In his opening remarks, Labor Hero Hoàng Đức Thảo, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Science and Technology Enterprises (VST), emphasized: “Now more than ever, Vietnamese businesses and scientific intellectuals must embrace market leadership, technological self-reliance, and a pioneering spirit. We must dare to think, act, and invest in research and commercialization of scientific and technological products, working together to take immediate action.”
Mr. Thảo stressed that Vietnam, in the context of globalization and international integration, must proactively engage in the global value chain. To achieve this, Vietnamese businesses need to continuously elevate innovation, commercialize research, and strengthen national competitiveness.
At the conference, Mr. Trần Xuân Đích, Deputy Director of the Department of Startup and Technology Enterprise Development, affirmed: “This conference is not just a policy forum but a genuine convergence of the ‘Three Houses’: the Government, Scientists, and Businesses. Each has a distinct role, yet all share the common goal of national development through science, technology, and innovation.”
The “Three Houses” model serves as a critical “development triangle,” where each party holds a vital link in transforming knowledge into practical products. When the Government, Scientists, and Businesses unite, the flow of knowledge, policy, and market synergies will create new momentum for Vietnamese innovation.
The Government’s role is to establish policy frameworks, institutions, incentives, and support mechanisms for science and technology enterprises. Scientists provide knowledge, research, inventions, technical solutions, and technology. Businesses invest, experiment, commercialize research outcomes, and bring products to market.
Delegates agreed that only when these three pillars are tightly linked can Vietnam develop a growth model based on science and technology, rather than relying on cheap labor or resource exploitation.
Innovation – The Key to Sustainable Growth in the Digital Age
The conference highlighted that for science and technology enterprises to thrive, Vietnam must establish a comprehensive support ecosystem encompassing preferential policies, access to capital, legal and intellectual property consulting, and connections between research institutions, universities, and businesses.
The conference also showcased successful case studies from various business models, demonstrating the effectiveness of the three-party collaboration.
In agriculture, Tiến Nông and ThaiBinh Seed closely collaborate with research institutions and universities to develop smart crop varieties and fertilizers, helping farmers enhance productivity and adapt to climate change.
In pharmaceuticals and medicinal herbs, Savipharm and Sao Thái Dương invest heavily in research and development, mastering formulation technology to provide high-quality products and reduce import dependency. Infrastructure companies like Busadco exemplify successful commercialization of research outcomes, implementing urban drainage, flood control, and environmental protection solutions.

These examples illustrate that the alliance is not just a concept but a practical reality, creating tangible value for society—from agriculture and healthcare to urban environments, meeting diverse needs and fostering international integration.
During the conference, the Platform for Connecting Businesses, Scientists, and the Government was introduced by the research and development team. In the future, the platform is expected to facilitate more collaborations between research institutions, universities, and businesses. As research is tested, implemented, and commercialized more rapidly, the economy will gain new momentum for growth.
