Mass Launch and Inauguration of 232 Projects Worth 1.3 Million Billion VND

Anticipated to mark the Party Congress celebrations on December 19th, 245 projects and constructions with a combined investment of 1,345,415 billion VND are set to commence and inaugurate, symbolizing progress and achievement.

On the morning of December 9th, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Key Transport Projects (the Committee), chaired the 22nd meeting of the Committee. The meeting was held online, connecting with provinces and cities across the nation.

Reporting at the meeting, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh stated that by December 19th, Vietnam is expected to complete and open 3,513 km of roads for technical traffic (3,188 km of main highways and 325 km of interchanges and access roads).

Additionally, in 2025, localities will complete 251 km of coastal roads, bringing the total length of operational coastal roads to approximately 1,701 km.

Regarding preparations for the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of major projects to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress on December 19th, the Ministry of Construction has compiled a list of 245 projects across 34 provinces and cities eligible for groundbreaking and inauguration (155 groundbreaking and 90 inauguration projects).

“The total investment for these projects is 1,345,415 billion VND. The Ministry of Construction proposes 79 live broadcast locations and direct connections at major, significant projects, linking with other projects within ministries, sectors, and localities… The central location will be at Long Thanh International Airport,” said Mr. Tran Hong Minh.

The Ministry of Construction will continue to coordinate with the Government Office and relevant ministries, sectors, and localities to review the list of projects to ensure they meet the scale and conditions for inauguration and groundbreaking as stipulated. They will also prepare the central report and the speech of the Government leader, collaborate with VTV to develop the program, script, and connection plan for the locations, and report to the Prime Minister before December 12th.

At the meeting, leaders from Tuyen Quang, Quang Tri, Dak Lak, Dong Thap, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, and Dong Nai provinces reported on measures to expedite land clearance (not yet completed as directed by the Prime Minister), focusing mainly on newly arising areas, access roads, and the relocation of technical infrastructure for the Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang, Van Ninh – Cam Lo, Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot, and Cao Lanh – An Huu highway projects. They also reported on the incomplete handover of land for rest stop projects along the North-South Eastern Highway.

The investors of the Can Tho – Ca Mau and Cao Lanh – An Huu highway projects reported on solutions to address the shortage of stone materials.
