The 108-Story Tower in Can Gio’s Reclaimed Urban Area

The Can Gio Reclaimed Urban Area is a 2,870-hectare mega-project by Vingroup, launched in April 2025. Located in Long Hoa and Can Thanh (now Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City), it aims to become Vietnam’s largest eco-tourism coastal city with an investment of over $9 billion.

Strategically positioned at the Hai Dang Lighthouse in this mega-city, the 108-story tower features a mixed-use design including commercial spaces, offices, hotels, and an observation deck. It’s poised to surpass Landmark 81 (461.2 meters) as Vietnam’s tallest building and enter the global top 10 tallest skyscrapers.

Based on Landmark 81’s height (also built by Vingroup), the 108-story tower could reach 550–600 meters. This would likely surpass iconic structures like Shanghai World Financial Center (492m), Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre (530m), Tianjin CTF Finance Centre (530m), and Lotte World Tower (555m) in South Korea.

If it ranks among the world’s top 10 tallest buildings, it will not only redefine Ho Chi Minh City’s skyline but also establish Vietnam as a global leader in supertall architecture.

The 108-story tower is more than a construction project—it symbolizes Vietnam’s national ambition and its rise in global supertall architecture. The number 108, considered lucky in Vietnamese and Buddhist cultures, reflects a blend of tradition and modernity, national identity, and global trends.

As a landmark, the tower will uniquely position Can Gio and Ho Chi Minh City on international maps. Like the Empire State Building for New York or Burj Khalifa for Dubai, it will embody Vietnam’s prosperity and progress as a modern Asian coastal metropolis.

In the future, this project will anchor a “city within a city”—a self-sustaining urban ecosystem for living, working, and entertainment. Upon completion, its surroundings will become a premier destination for business tourism and luxury leisure in Southeast Asia.

What Makes the 108-Story Tower’s Location and Design Unique?

This marks Vietnam’s first supertall structure built directly on reclaimed land, showcasing advanced engineering and overcoming complex geological challenges. While Landmark 81 stands on the Saigon Riverbank, this tower rises from reclaimed land in Can Gio—a groundbreaking technical achievement.

The tower is located in plot C3-30 of Zone C, spanning 317.32 hectares, at the Hai Dang Lighthouse—the highest point with the best views in the urban area. This strategic location offers panoramic views of Southeast Asia’s seas and serves as a “modern lighthouse” guiding the entire 2,870-hectare development.

Its vertical mixed-use design includes vibrant commercial spaces at the base, Class A offices for international corporations in the middle, a 6-star hotel with international standards at higher levels, and ultra-luxury penthouses at the pinnacle with 360-degree sea views.

Technically, the tower is engineered to withstand harsh coastal conditions, including strong winds, high humidity, and saltwater corrosion. Its earthquake and typhoon-resistant structure meets international standards, ensuring absolute safety.

The facade features reflective glass creating dynamic visual effects throughout the day. At night, programmed LED lighting transforms the tower into a dazzling spectacle, attracting visitors from afar.

The Vinhomes Green Paradise 108-story tower is in its initial construction phase after the project’s groundbreaking on April 19, 2025. By late 2025, crews are focused on land reclamation, site preparation, and foundation work.

From 2025–2027, deep excavation and concrete foundation pouring will be executed using advanced technology to ensure stability on reclaimed land.

Between 2027–2030, the main structure will rise at a rate of 3–4 floors per month. Final completion and operation are expected from 2030–2032, including interior finishing, HVAC installation, security systems, and premium amenities.
