The Hanoi Department of Construction has announced plans to accept applications for the purchase of social housing units previously leased for the full term in two projects within the city. These units, originally part of the rent-to-own scheme, are now being transitioned to a direct sales model as per regulations.
The first project is the Bamboo Garden social housing complex, developed by CEO Group Corporation, located in Quoc Oai Urban Area (formerly Quoc Oai District), approximately 30 km from Hanoi’s city center.
In the first phase, 86 rental units will be converted for sale, ranging from 48 to 58 square meters. The expected selling price is nearly 10 million VND per square meter (inclusive of VAT and maintenance fees), totaling between 486 and 586 million VND per unit. Applications will be accepted from December 1, 2025, to January 15, 2026.
Bamboo Garden spans over 1 hectare, featuring two 9-story buildings with 432 units, and a total investment of over 242 billion VND.
The second project is the social housing complex at Lot 5B2, Dong Hoi Resettlement Area (formerly Dong Anh District), developed by Thang Long LLC.
This project offers 88 units for sale, ranging from 58 to 67 square meters. The selling price exceeds 15 million VND per square meter, equivalent to 867 million to over 1 billion VND per unit. Applications will be accepted from December 1, 2025, to January 12, 2026.
The Dong Hoi social housing complex covers over 4,500 square meters, comprising a 30-story building with 2 basements, providing 504 units.
Importantly, not everyone is eligible to apply for these social housing units. Only current tenants who have completed a 5-year lease period are qualified to submit applications.
The Hanoi Department of Construction advises residents to avoid unauthorized transfers of social housing units and to only submit applications at locations officially announced by the developer on the Department’s website.
Additionally, organizations and individuals are strictly prohibited from exploiting social housing policies and public demand to collect fees or deposits in violation of regulations.
