According to the November 2025 sales report by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) in India, VinFast recorded 291 electric vehicle sales in the market. This marks the highest monthly sales for the company since its official entry into India. In comparison, Tesla sold 48 units, primarily the Model Y.

Compared to October 2025, VinFast’s sales surged from 131 to 291 units, an increase of over 160 units in just one month. Tesla also saw a slight rise from 40 to 48 units. VinFast’s November sales included the VF 6 and VF 7 models. The VF 6 is priced starting at 16.49 lakh rupees (approximately $20,000), while the VF 7 starts at 20.89 lakh rupees (approximately $25,500).

Tesla currently distributes the Model Y in India as a fully imported vehicle, priced at around 59.89 lakh rupees ($73,000). As an imported model, the Model Y is significantly more expensive than locally assembled competitors, including VinFast’s electric vehicles.

Despite VinFast outselling Tesla in November, both brands trail behind domestic electric vehicle manufacturers, which dominate the Indian market. According to FADA data, Tata Motors continues to lead the EV segment with over 6,000 units sold in the month, far surpassing foreign brands and new market entrants. MG Motor and Mahindra also maintain steady sales, securing notable market shares behind Tata.

FADA reports that India’s overall electric vehicle market in November maintained its growth momentum compared to previous months, with the majority of sales coming from compact and entry-level models. New electric vehicle launches in 2025, including VinFast’s offerings, are gradually achieving better sales figures through expanded distribution networks, increased local assembly, and improved delivery volumes.

At the time of the November report release, VinFast announced ongoing efforts to enhance its dealership and service center network in major Indian cities. Tesla continues to supply imported Model Y units to meet customer demand, with no new updates on local manufacturing or assembly plans.
