Located in Phu Trach commune, the project is part of the adjusted Power Plan VIII, approved by the Prime Minister. The Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee has endorsed the investment policy and designated EVN as the investor.

According to EVN, the Quang Trach Power Center comprises three plants: Quang Trach I, LNG Quang Trach II, and LNG Quang Trach III, with a combined capacity of approximately 4,500 MW.

Once operational, each plant will supply around 9.1 billion kWh annually to the national grid, enhancing energy security and grid stability.

The approved investment policy positions the LNG Quang Trach III project as a critical component in the province’s energy development strategy. It is expected to contribute approximately 1.2 trillion VND annually to the budget, create stable jobs for local workers, boost supporting industries, and attract major investors to Quang Tri.
