Vietnam Airlines is required to collaborate with ACV to assess runway conditions, prepare aircraft, flight crews, and technical teams for the flight.
The first official flight to Long Thanh Airport is scheduled for December 19, 2025, operating on the Noi Bai – Long Thanh – Noi Bai route.
In preparation for the first commercial flight, ACV has completed runway 1, taxiways, and the apron in front of the passenger terminal, along with synchronized equipment such as signal lights, signage, and markings. Load-bearing tests on the runway system have been conducted to ensure it can handle the largest aircraft as designed.
Runway 1 is ready to welcome critical flights.
Additionally, ACV has completed the T1 and T2 connecting roads and the main terminal access road by December 15th, along with developing aircraft operation plans, ground service plans, and appropriate staffing arrangements.
VATM has substantially completed air traffic management preparations, including the construction of the air traffic control tower and the installation of critical technical systems such as primary and secondary radars (PSR/SSR), DVOR/DME navigation systems, and ADS-B systems. They have also finalized flight procedures and optimal operation plans for the Tan Son Nhat – Long Thanh area, deploying experienced air traffic controllers with full qualifications and licenses.
