As the year-end approaches, one of the top concerns for employees is, “How much will the Tet bonus be this year?” and “When will we receive the Tet bonus?” Companies are also entering the final stretch, preparing salary and bonus plans for their workforce.

Alongside the care plans directly organized by the trade union, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour is also instructing grassroots trade unions to develop schemes, monitor, and negotiate salaries and bonuses to ensure workers’ rights.

Based in Thai Nguyen province, the production and business activities of DBG Technology Vietnam were somewhat affected by the recent historic floods. However, with the trade union’s involvement, the company has largely agreed on a Tet bonus policy for its employees.

Mr. Zeng Shuiping, Administrative and Human Resources Director of DBG Technology Vietnam, stated, “According to the joint policy between the company and the trade union, all employees will receive a one-month basic salary bonus for Tet. Last year, the company adjusted salaries twice in April and August, increasing the basic salary from VND 4,560,000 to VND 6,400,000, demonstrating the company’s commitment to employee well-being.”

At another company, the trade union and the Board of Directors are actively negotiating the salary and bonus policy.

Mr. Zhu Guanjun, General Director of Hengxin Vietnam New Material Technology Company, said, “The company has not yet finalized the Tet bonus amount but has committed to the trade union that there will be no salary arrears. The trade union has proposed a minimum bonus of one month’s income, and both parties are still in negotiations.”

Trade unions at all levels consider monitoring wages and bonuses a key task during the year-end to ensure workers’ legitimate rights.

During Tet, alongside practical care programs such as train and bus tickets to return home and livelihood support activities, trade unions continue to closely monitor each company to ensure transparent salary and bonus implementation.

This partnership not only helps employees work with peace of mind but also builds trust and motivation for them to stay committed and contribute to the company’s overall development.
