Flight VN5001, operated by Vietnam Airlines with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, took off from Tan Son Nhat Airport (SGN) at 3:20 PM and landed at Long Thanh Airport at 4:00 PM on December 15.
Shortly after, flight VN5002 also successfully took off from Long Thanh Airport on the same day. This event is vital for comprehensively evaluating the technical infrastructure, service procedures, and coordination capabilities among units at Vietnam’s largest airport.
During operations, Vietnam Airlines and Long Thanh International Airport collaborated to inspect various aspects, including runways, aprons, navigation systems, passenger terminals, ground service chains, technical operations, and flight management. This final verification confirms Long Thanh Airport’s readiness to welcome its first commercial flight, operated by Vietnam Airlines on December 19.

All operations are conducted in compliance with safety standards and procedures set by authorities.
