Vietnam Airlines Rewards Vietnamese Athletes at SEA Games 33

According to the latest announcement from Vietnam Airlines Corporation, an instant reward mechanism in the form of tangible gifts will be implemented for Vietnamese athletes. Specifically, each athlete who wins a Gold Medal at this event will receive a round-trip domestic flight ticket from the airline.

This decision comes at a critical time as SEA Games 33 enters its intense final stages in Thailand. The initiative provides practical support for the frequent travel needs of professional athletes, while also serving as a timely morale boost amidst the escalating competition for medals.

This effort is part of Vietnam Airlines’ long-term Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. The airline has long been the official carrier for Vietnamese sports delegations at events like the SEA Games, ASIAD, and the Olympics.

SEA Games 33 Medal Standings

This reward package emerges amid fierce competition in the medal standings as of December 18. Host nation Thailand leads with 177 Gold Medals, leveraging its record number of athletes. Meanwhile, Vietnam (64 Gold, 66 Silver, 91 Bronze) and Indonesia are locked in a tight battle for second and third place.

Despite immense pressure from the host country, Vietnam’s top athletes are performing at their peak. Notable performances include the Rowing team, which has surpassed its target with 4 Gold Medals, and the Wrestling team, which achieved 50% of its goal on the first day with 3 Gold Medals.

With the goal of securing approximately 110 Gold Medals to maintain its top position, the timely support from major corporations like Vietnam Airlines is providing crucial backing, sharing resources, and boosting the morale of athletes as they strive for victory.
