On the morning of December 18th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Urban Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board, in collaboration with An Phu Dong Ward, officially commenced the construction of Thanh Loc Park.
This 3.37-hectare public project, funded by the city’s budget with an investment of nearly 54 billion VND, is slated for completion by July 16, 2026.

Thanh Loc Park officially broke ground on the morning of December 18th.
Beyond its role as a green infrastructure project, Thanh Loc Park is envisioned as a vibrant community hub for the area.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Urban Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board, the park’s design draws inspiration from the traditional phoenix motif—a symbol of prosperity and renewal in East Asian culture. The soaring phoenix imagery embodies the spirit of transformation and hope for a brighter future.

Construction of Thanh Loc Park began immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony.
Upon completion, the park will feature a range of amenities, including internal pathways, a children’s playground, fitness areas, and community gathering spaces. Additional facilities will include public restrooms, shaded pavilions, floral trellises, diverse greenery, and automated irrigation systems. The park will also incorporate drainage, lighting, decorative fixtures, and sports equipment to cater to various recreational needs.
At the groundbreaking event, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien, Acting Chairman of An Phu Dong Ward’s People’s Committee, highlighted the significance of the timing. The ceremony took place as the nation prepares for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and approaches the end of 2025, marking the transition to 2026.
Mr. Thien emphasized that Thanh Loc Park is more than a construction project—it is a tangible demonstration of the city’s commitment to implementing policies that directly benefit its residents.
“This project underscores the city’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of its citizens,” Mr. Thien stated.
Positioning the park as a cultural cornerstone for the ward, Mr. Thien expressed hope that residents will actively preserve and utilize this public space. He also pledged to ensure smooth land clearance, traffic management, and security to facilitate the project’s timely completion and community service.
