Vingroup Partners with German Conglomerate
December 17, 2025 – VinSpeed Railway Investment and Development JSC (Vingroup) and Siemens Mobility GmbH (Siemens AG, Germany) officially signed a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation and Technology Transfer Agreement. This partnership establishes a broad collaboration in high-speed rail development within Vietnam.
This strategic move by VinSpeed aims to master high-speed rail capabilities, laying the groundwork for transferring cutting-edge technologies. It will drive localization efforts and gradually build a modern, internationally-standardized transportation infrastructure for Vietnam.

Under the agreement, Siemens Mobility, a global leader in high-speed rail technology and solutions, will design, supply, and integrate trains alongside critical rail systems. This includes signaling, communication, and power supply systems.
Siemens Mobility will also explore joint maintenance for the trains and systems they provide, transferring technology to VinSpeed projects with a focus on maximum localization.

World’s Most Advanced Trains Coming to Vietnam
Siemens Mobility plans to supply the Velaro Novo trainset, their newest and most advanced high-speed train model.

The Velaro Novo utilizes ETCS Level 2 signaling combined with ATO (Automatic Train Operation) technology. This system enhances safety, optimizes energy consumption, and allows for increased operational frequency. It meets the efficient operation demands of the Hanoi – Quang Ninh and Ben Thanh – Can Gio high-speed rail lines in the future.
Velaro Novo Trains Designated for Specific Projects
On December 17th, VinSpeed and Siemens Mobility signed a Framework Agreement for the supply of trains and related systems for the Hanoi – Quang Ninh and Ben Thanh – Can Gio high-speed rail projects.
