Design of the DT.975 road and the Phu Quoc LRT system.
The project is located on the 10-lane DT.975 provincial road, directly connecting Phu Quoc International Airport with the APEC Conference Center. It will establish a modern, synchronized, and high-quality public transportation system. The 17.59 km LRT line includes elevated, ground-level, and underground sections, with 6 stations—5 ground-level and 1 underground at the APEC Conference Center. The 3-car trains will operate at speeds of 70–100 km/h, transporting approximately 4,500 passengers per hour, reducing travel time from the airport to the APEC Conference Center and southern island resorts to just 20 minutes.
Beyond its transportation significance, the LRT system will enhance the tourism experience by directly connecting Phu Quoc International Airport to resorts, entertainment areas, and the APEC Conference Center. Once operational, the project will position Phu Quoc as a modern, integrated destination, aligning with the standards of leading global tourism hubs like Singapore and Dubai.
