According to statistics from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Quang Ninh stands out as one of Vietnam’s most captivating destinations for Indian travelers. India is rapidly emerging as a key and highly promising market for Quang Ninh. Numerous billionaire weddings and large-scale MICE events have chosen Quang Ninh as their preferred destination.
Indian travel agencies highlight that, in recent years, Quang Ninh has become a favorite destination for Indian tourists. The region boasts a wide array of high-quality hotels and resorts, along with numerous captivating landmarks.
The tourism sector in Quang Ninh has identified India as one of the top 10 international markets with significant growth potential.
In 2024, Quang Ninh welcomed over 4,500 Indian tourists, who visited as part of a tourism and event package. From August 29 to September 3, 2024, large groups of visitors experienced tailored tourism products, including tours of Ha Long Bay, stays at luxury hotels and resorts, cruise services, and culinary experiences designed specifically for Indian preferences.
Mr. Nguyen Lam Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, stated: “In 2025, India is expected to be the fastest-growing international market for Quang Ninh tourism.” This trend is projected to continue in the following years.

To cater to this growing demand, accommodation providers and businesses have invested in specialized products. Luxury cruises like La Luna and resorts such as FLC Grand Hotel Ha Long and Vinpearl Resort and Spa Ha Long have developed comprehensive packages for Indian weddings and MICE groups.
In addition to venue decorations, cuisine is a critical factor influencing Indian tourists’ destination and extended stay choices.
Previously, large groups often had to bring their own chefs. Establishing a large-scale Indian restaurant will significantly enhance the supply chain and service offerings for this highly promising market.

Currently, Quang Ninh is focusing on developing Indian restaurants. A prime example is The One Indian, the first large-scale Indian restaurant in Quang Ninh, which recently opened its doors.
With a capacity of 500-600 guests, this restaurant caters to large groups while ensuring authentic flavors and a diverse menu, featuring Tandoori grills, curries, naan bread, and signature vegetarian dishes.
With a population exceeding 1.4 billion, India represents a key international market that Quang Ninh’s tourism industry is actively targeting. Investing in and expanding restaurant options tailored to Indian preferences not only introduces new tourism products but also plays a crucial role in attracting Indian visitors to Quang Ninh in the future.
