According to Official Dispatch No. 764/2025 dated December 25, 2025, submitted to the Government, Vingroup has requested to withdraw its investment registration for the North-South High-Speed Railway project, which was initially proposed to the Government in May 2025. This decision to withdraw was made after careful consideration by the corporation to ensure maximum resource allocation for other strategic infrastructure projects recently assigned to them.
A prime example is the 9,000-hectare Olympic Sports City project in Hanoi, centered around a complex of high-quality sports facilities, including the Trống Đồng Stadium—the largest in the world. This nationally significant project, entrusted to Vingroup by the Government, aims to showcase Vietnam’s cultural identity on the global stage. As such, Vingroup is committed to dedicating all necessary resources to meet the promised quality standards and timelines.

In addition to the Olympic Sports City, Vingroup has been appointed as the lead investor for several critical transportation infrastructure projects, including the Bến Thành – Cần Giờ high-speed railway and the Hà Nội – Quảng Ninh high-speed railway.
Furthermore, Vingroup is fully committed to advancing numerous other industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects, such as the VinMetal steel plant, two wind power plants in Kỳ Anh (Hà Tĩnh), the Hải Phòng LNG Thermal Power Plant, and the Cần Giờ Coastal Mega-City. These projects are vital for enhancing the nation’s infrastructure and production capabilities, requiring substantial investment in capital, time, and execution expertise.
Meanwhile, the North-South High-Speed Railway project has attracted interest and investment proposals from several capable and experienced companies, including THACO Trường Hải, Vietnam Railways Corporation, and the Vietnam Investment and Development Group (Vietnam 3000).
Therefore, Vingroup’s withdrawal from the North-South High-Speed Railway project will not hinder its progress. This proactive and responsible decision by Vingroup ensures the successful execution of its assigned projects, contributing to the development of modern, sustainable transportation, renewable energy, and urban infrastructure. Ultimately, these efforts aim to enhance Vietnam’s national competitiveness and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
