Recently, on her personal page, CEO Le Hanh—a familiar face associated with Shark Tank Vietnam—shared a lengthy post titled “GIVING IT YOUR ALL, THEN… MOVE ON,” reflecting on her decade-long journey alongside Vietnam’s startup community.
Le Hanh reflects on her 10-year commitment to Vietnam’s startup ecosystem, beginning in 2016 when she embraced the “startup nation” initiative and officially began supporting domestic startups. By 2017, the inaugural season of Shark Tank Vietnam aired. Over nearly a decade and seven seasons, the show produced over 100 episodes, featuring nearly 300 startups pitching innovative models. Concurrently, nearly 200 episodes of Café Khởi Nghiệp were created, fostering in-depth, candid conversations about entrepreneurship and the challenges faced by founders.
From this platform, numerous projects gained public recognition and continued to grow, even expanding into international markets. Notable examples include DatBike in the electric vehicle sector and Coolmate in men’s fashion.
However, in the past two years, the show faced controversies as several “sharks” became embroiled in legal issues related to their personal business and investment activities.
Against this backdrop, Le Hanh’s post garnered significant public attention. She wrote, “Concluding 10 years with Vietnam’s startup community, I carry with me the values shared, the emotions received—and invaluable lessons learned. While one chapter ends, the entrepreneurial spirit and the essence of Shark Tank remain an inseparable part of my identity.”
According to Dân trí, Le Hanh confirmed that Shark Tank Vietnam has officially ceased production with no plans for a return. She stated that the program concluded after 100 episodes, ending with Season 7 in 2024.
She candidly acknowledged that the incidents involving the “sharks” were unexpected and regrettable, significantly impacting the show’s reputation. These events also exposed risks in selecting and managing participants, for which the production team lacked effective control measures.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Le Hanh is also known for her passion for Vietnamese culinary culture. TVHub—the investor and producer of Shark Tank Vietnam—is currently expanding its food-focused programming, including the show Đầu Bếp Thượng Đỉnh.
