On December 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Internal Affairs announced that as of December 25, over 3,800 enterprises (employing more than 694,300 workers) across the city had reported their 2025 salary status and bonus plans for the 2026 Solar New Year and the Lunar New Year of the Horse.
The aggregated reports reveal that the highest bonuses are offered by companies in the electronics and information technology, food processing, software development, and real estate sectors.
Specifically, for the 2026 Solar New Year, the average bonus is approximately 1.93 million VND per person, a 10.5% increase compared to the 2025 survey results (1.75 million VND per person).
For the 2026 Lunar New Year of the Horse, the average bonus is around 12.02 million VND per person, a 6.8% increase from the 2025 Lunar New Year of the Snake (11.26 million VND per person). The highest bonus recorded is over 1.8 billion VND per person.
Among the 3,802 enterprises that submitted their 2026 holiday bonus plans, 1,919 (50.47%) indicated that, in addition to monetary bonuses, they are providing practical support to their employees, such as Tet gifts, shopping vouchers, lucky money, and organized transportation (or travel allowances, bus tickets).
Furthermore, many companies in the city are planning year-end parties and visits to employees facing difficulties, as well as organizing Tet celebrations for those unable to return home during this period.
