According to Resolution No. 418/NQ-CP issued by the Government, in celebration of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, a cash gift of 400,000 VND will be distributed to eligible beneficiaries.

The recipients include individuals with meritorious contributions to the revolution, social welfare beneficiaries, social pensioners, orphans, and those without guardians. To ensure transparency and efficiency, payments will be prioritized through online transactions via the VNeID social security account, with a deadline of January 31, 2026.

To receive social welfare benefits on time, citizens should verify that their VNeID social security account is successfully linked to their bank. During this process, users may encounter common issues arising from system errors, account conditions, or linked data.

Citizens should promptly check if their VNeID social security account is successfully linked to their bank.

Common Issues to Be Aware Of

A primary obstacle is the account verification level. The system only grants access and integrates social security information for VNeID accounts at Level 2. Therefore, Level 1 account holders must visit their local police station with their ID card to complete the upgrade process before proceeding with bank linkage.

Additionally, using a bank or e-wallet not partnered with VNeID can cause bank account linkage to fail. Currently, the payment network includes major banks like Vietcombank, VietinBank, BIDV, Agribank, MB, Techcombank, ACB, Sacombank, VPBank, and popular e-wallets such as MoMo, VNPT Money, and Viettel Money. If a beneficiary’s bank is not on this list, the system will not display the integration option.

Users should also be mindful of technical issues, especially system overloads during peak payment periods, which may result in incomplete bank data display. Failing to update the app can also cause the “Social Welfare” section to disappear or information to become unsynchronized. To resolve this, citizens should check and update VNeID to the latest version on the app store for seamless functionality.

Step 3: Choose Bank/E-Wallet: Select your preferred bank (Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, MB, etc.).

Step 4: Enter Details: Input your bank/e-wallet account number, complete personal information, and agree to data sharing.

Step 5: Submit Request: Confirm and submit the request, then await approval from VNeID.

To ensure readiness to receive funds, citizens should log in to VNeID and access the “Social Welfare” section. If the bank name and account number are fully displayed, the linkage is successful. Authorities advise completing this process early to avoid last-minute rushes before the January 31, 2026 deadline. In unavoidable circumstances where linkage or technical issues cannot be resolved, beneficiaries can still receive cash directly as guided by local authorities, ensuring no one is left behind during the Lunar New Year.
