Shocking Revelations: Ho Chi Minh City Police Inspect 11 Food Processing Facilities

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has launched a comprehensive inspection of 11 food processing facilities, collaborating to destroy numerous products of unknown origin.

On December 30th, the Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police announced a major crackdown on establishments involved in the production, processing, and sale of food products with unclear origins or failing to meet food safety standards.

Mass Inspections Conducted

The Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City inspected 10 cold storage businesses across the city.

The inspected companies include N.N.F Company in Bình Hưng Hòa Ward; M.P Business Household in Bình Lợi Commune; X.H Food Co., Ltd. in Thủ Đức Ward; T.L T.D Company in An Phú Đông Ward; V.T Frozen Food Company in Linh Xuân Ward; Đ.N.F Trading Co., Ltd. in Bà Điểm Commune; L. Food Processing and Trading Company in Tân Nhựt Commune; C.P.F Co., Ltd. in Vĩnh Lộc Commune; NT Food Co., Ltd. (Vĩnh Lộc Commune); and H.M.H Business Establishment in Tam Bình Ward.

Ho Chi Minh City Police uncover numerous products with unclear origins.

Authorities discovered over 30.5 tons of animal organs and meat, including 4.5 tons of frozen pork belly; 3.7 tons of frozen pork intestines; 4.3 tons of frozen unhatched chicken eggs; 1.5 tons of frozen chicken cartilage; 5.5 tons of frozen beef, pork, and buffalo meat; 3.5 tons of chicken feet, dried beef, and Vietnamese ham; and 7 tons of seafood.

All products were packed in cartons labeled with foreign languages, lacking Vietnamese supplementary labels and invoices proving their origin. The owners admitted to purchasing these products from unknown sources for resale.

Authorities destroyed all unauthorized food products and issued administrative fines totaling 1.66 billion VND.

Two Samples Fail Standards

Additionally, the Economic Police Department inspected environmental compliance and food safety at noodle and rice noodle eateries, including Đ.N.M.K Business Household in Thủ Đức Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Two food samples (char siu pork and pork belly) from Đ.N.M.K were tested for food safety.

Results showed both samples exceeded Ministry of Health standards for aerobic microorganisms, Salmonella spp., and Escherichia coli.

The Economic Police Department issued a 66.5 million VND fine and suspended the processing of char siu pork and pork belly for two months, requiring corrective actions from Đ.N.M.K.
