The Khe Sanh Social Insurance (KSSI) office in Quang Tri province has issued an official dispatch to the People’s Committee, local police, and employers across seven communes (formerly part of Huong Hoa district). The purpose is to heighten awareness regarding fraudulent activities involving individuals impersonating KSSI staff.

Recently, KSSI Khe Sanh has received numerous reports from residents and workers about scammers posing as their officials. These fraudsters contact individuals via phone calls, text messages, or suspicious links, inviting them to the KSSI office for “personal data updates or paper health insurance card printing.” Notably, one scammer using the phone number 0936838764 claims to be “Hung,” a KSSI officer in Huong Hoa district.

KSSI Khe Sanh emphasizes that these tactics aim to steal personal data and defraud social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment benefit recipients, causing widespread anxiety among residents and employers.

To safeguard personal information and mitigate risks, KSSI Khe Sanh urges all agencies and units to disseminate warnings about these scams. They clarify that neither Quang Tri Social Insurance nor its local offices initiate contact via phone calls, Zalo friend requests, or QR codes. Additionally, they never request participants or beneficiaries to provide citizen ID (CCCD) details or personal information for electronic transaction system updates.

KSSI Khe Sanh confirms that the transition to using personal identification numbers (PIN)/CCCD instead of social insurance codes is automated by their system, requiring no additional action from participants or beneficiaries during transactions.

Residents are advised to scrutinize online transactions, avoid clicking unknown links, and never share OTP codes or personal passwords.
