As reported by VTC News on January 7, 2026, the Tan Van Interchange construction project (from Km25+990 to Km28+383) has taken shape. Workers are busy finalizing various components to meet the early Q2/2026 deadline.

Designed as a three-tier interchange with five overpass branches, the project features intricately stacked and interwoven components. Contractors have maximized manpower and equipment, implementing round-the-clock shifts to meet deadlines.

According to Nguyen Thanh Tan, Deputy Director of the XL1 contract package, over 200 workers and engineers, along with approximately 140 construction machines, are currently on-site.

Trucks, rollers, excavators, and cranes continuously operate on-site. Favorable weather is being leveraged to accelerate work, compensating for previous rain-related delays.

“The XL1 contract package has reached approximately 45% completion. Seven contractors are currently working on bridge and road components, all meeting scheduled timelines,” stated Nguyen Thanh Tan.

Numerous concrete pillars for the overpass branches are complete, with workers rushing to finish the remaining ones. The Ring Road 3 elevated section’s downward branch has entered the girder placement phase. Tier 3, the project’s most complex area, is under intense construction.

Simultaneous construction of bridge piers, bridge girders, and road foundations creates a dense work rhythm.

“During favorable weather, the Project Management Board will require contractors to increase equipment, manpower, and overtime to accelerate progress. Technical completion of the main bridge is expected by April 30, 2026, with parallel roads fully completed by June 30, 2026,” said Nguyen Thanh Tan.

The Tan Van Interchange project, part of the XL1 contract package under Component 5 of HCMC’s Ring Road 3 (formerly through Binh Duong Province, now HCMC), began in late April 2024 with a total investment of over VND 1.8 trillion, expected to complete within 3 years.
