Gia Lai Prepares 38 Resettlement Areas for the North-South High-Speed Railway Project

Unveiling a new era of connectivity, Gia Lai Province has taken a monumental step forward with the approval of 38 resettlement areas spanning 153.84 hectares, paving the way for the highly anticipated North-South High-Speed Railway project to traverse its territory.

On January 8th, the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province announced that they have submitted a report to the Ministry of Construction regarding the implementation of the North-South High-Speed Railway project within the province. According to the report, Gia Lai has completed the planning approval for all 38 resettlement areas and 6 cemetery relocation sites (covering 4.01 hectares). The total planned area for the 38 resettlement zones is 153.84 hectares, with 141.02 hectares (3,371 lots) designated for construction to accommodate 1,587 households affected by the main railway line clearance.

The Standing Committee of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee has approved the compensation, support, and resettlement project with a total investment value of 10,310 billion VND, assigning the Provincial Land Development Fund Center as the project investor.

The North-South High-Speed Railway project passes through 18 communes and wards in Gia Lai Province, starting at Hoai Nhon Bac Ward and ending at Quy Nhon Tay Ward. The total length of the route within Gia Lai is approximately 115.7 km (from Km886+300 to Km1002+000). Two stations will be constructed along the route in Gia Lai: Bong Son Station in Hoai Nhon Nam Ward and Dieu Tri Station in Tuy Phuoc Tay Commune.

Resettlement areas planned to support the project.

In their report, the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province requests the Ministry of Construction to promptly approve the division of the project into sub-projects and finalize the selection of consulting units for the feasibility study report. They also urge coordination with local authorities to adjust the project’s route alignment, minimizing overlaps and impacts on urban planning, residential areas, resettlement zones, key provincial projects, and historical sites.
