On the afternoon of January 9th, according to a report by Tien Phong Newspaper, regarding the case of African swine fever-infected pork being smuggled into the cold storage of HaLong CanFoco Joint Stock Company, the Hai Phong City Police Department took the lead in coordinating with inter-agency forces to destroy over 160 tons of meat and processed products testing positive for the African swine fever virus.

Inspection results from the cold storage of HaLong CanFoco Joint Stock Company revealed 132.3 tons of pork loin purchased by Bui Duc Trong (born in 1979, residing in Ngo Quyen Ward) from Le Ba Doanh (born in 1977, residing in An Bien Ward) and Trinh Viet Ha (born in 1991, residing in Ha Bac Commune), which was then sold to HaLong CanFoco Joint Stock Company.
Additionally, over 4,140 kg of spring rolls and more than 3,280 kg of special spring rolls produced from pork supplied by Bui Duc Trong to HaLong CanFoco Joint Stock Company also tested positive for the African swine fever virus.
Furthermore, inter-agency forces identified products stored in the company’s cold storage that tested positive for Salmonella spp bacteria, including: 1.36 tons of frozen pork skin supplied by Bui Duc Trong; 8.2 tons of imported frozen chicken skin; and 6 tons of imported frozen ground chicken.

Inter-agency forces also destroyed over 13,900 canned products manufactured by HaLong CanFoco Joint Stock Company using African swine fever-infected pork supplied by Bui Duc Trong. This included more than 6,440 cans of “patê cột đèn” (90g/can, production date: 06/09/2025) and 7,511 cans of “patê cột đèn” (150g/can).
According to reports, inter-agency forces carried out the destruction of the African swine fever-infected meat and canned products from HaLong CanFoco Joint Stock Company’s cold storage at the Dinh Vu Economic Zone’s disposal area using burial methods.
