Furthermore, Highlands Coffee has proactively ceased serving products containing non-meat ingredients supplied by the aforementioned vendor, prioritizing consumer safety and exercising caution. The company is closely monitoring the situation and awaiting official guidance from regulatory authorities.

Highlands Coffee’s Official Statement

Highlands Coffee’s statement comes in response to a recent shocking incident, where authorities discovered over 120 tons of pork contaminated with African Swine Fever (ASF) stockpiled at Halong Canfoco’s warehouse. Among this, 2 tons had already been processed into finished products. Halong Canfoco is a well-known producer of various canned goods, including the popular Pate Cột đèn Hải Phòng, ground pork, and sterilized sausages. The entire contaminated batch has been destroyed.

Notably, Highlands Coffee has been implicated in this matter. According to the 2025 Semi-annual Financial Report, Highlands Coffee Corporation is one of CAN’s major clients, with outstanding receivables exceeding VND 46 billion as of Q2/2025. However, a spokesperson for Highlands Coffee clarified that the products sourced from CAN are dry goods, not pork-based. Detailed information regarding these products will be disclosed in due course.
