Nestlé’s NAN Infant Formula Products

According to an official statement from Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd., the company is proactively recalling 17 batches of its NAN infant formula. This decision follows a routine ingredient review, which identified a potential quality issue with a raw material (PUFA oil).

Specifically, this ingredient, sourced from a third-party supplier and used in some European-manufactured products, may contain trace amounts of Cereulide, a toxin produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus.

While the amount of oil used in the products is minimal and there is currently no evidence of Cereulide in the distributed batches, Nestlé Vietnam is taking a “maximum precaution” approach. This voluntary recall ensures the highest level of consumer safety.

The recall encompasses 17 batches of Nestlé NAN INFINIPRO A2 and Nestlé NAN OPTIPRO PLUS formulas, with expiration dates ranging from April 2027 to September 2027.

Consumers are advised to check the full list of affected products and batches below. Batch numbers and expiration dates are printed on the bottom of the cans, as illustrated above. Image: Nestlé Vietnam

Nestlé Vietnam emphasizes that other batches and product lines (such as NAN OptiproPlus stages 3 and 4, NAN SupremePro, S-26 Ultima, PreNAN, NAN ExpertPro, Nutren Junior, Peptamen Junior…) NOT listed below remain of assured quality and safe for consumption.

For consumers possessing affected products, Nestlé recommends discontinuing use. The company has established a toll-free hotline at 18006699 to provide support and address consumer concerns. Nestlé prioritizes consumer health and safety above all else in this matter.
