New Airline Launches in Phan Thiet, Expanding Travel Options

On December 19, 2025, Sun Phan Thiet Airport Limited Liability Company was established, headquartered in the Phan Thiet coastal urban area, Phu Thuy Ward, Lam Dong Province.

Its primary business focuses on constructing airports and other civil engineering projects through Build-Transfer (BT), Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), and Build-Own-Operate (BOO) models.

The company’s charter capital is 600 billion VND. Founding shareholders include Sun Airport Corporation (Sun Phu Quoc Airways) with 55%, Mr. Tran Van Hai with 15%, and Mr. Trinh Quang Minh with 30%. Mr. Minh (born in 1990, residing in Phu Quoc, An Giang), the CEO, serves as the company’s legal representative.

Sun Phu Quoc Airways was founded in January 2025 with an initial capital of 1,000 billion VND. Its founding shareholders are Sun Group Investment LLC (19.5%), Sun Phu Quoc LLC (4.5%), Mr. Trinh Hai Dong (25.4%), Mr. Huynh Phan Hoang Nhat Thien (25.3%), and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hau (25.3%). Initially, Mr. Dong (born in 1997), the CEO, acted as the legal representative.

In August 2025, Sun Phu Quoc Airways appointed Ms. Phan Bui Bich Phuong (born in 1992), Chairwoman of the Board, as its new legal representative. Ms. Phuong was also authorized by Nam An Civil Construction LLC to manage a 675 billion VND stake in Sun Phu Quoc Airways.

Lam Dong Province is preparing to invite investment for the civil component of Phan Thiet Airport. The 74.6-hectare project, located in Mui Ne Ward, has a total investment of nearly 3.8 trillion VND. It aims to serve 2 million passengers annually by 2030 and operate both domestic and international flights. On December 13, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee approved the investment policy for the Phan Thiet Airport’s civil aviation component.

According to the decision, the project will be implemented through a bidding process. Investors must contribute a minimum of 15% of the total investment, approximately 570 billion VND, with the remainder sourced from legal channels. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months and will operate for 50 years.
