On January 10th, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh inspected several key components of the Long Thanh International Airport project (Long Thanh Airport).

According to a report by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the entire project consists of 15 packages, with 3 completed and 12 under construction. The total value of work completed to date is approximately 57,888 out of 86,357 billion VND, equivalent to 67% of the contract value.
As of now, Connection Road No. 1 has been technically opened to traffic, and Road No. 2 has completed its asphalt concrete pavement. Traffic safety, lighting, and landscaping components are being finalized, with expected completion in February 2026.
ACV leadership stated that all packages are managed with the principle of “centering around the June 2026 operation milestone,” prioritizing the resolution of intersection and overlapping issues to ensure project synchronization.

At Component 4, the delegation inspected the VAECO and Vietjet maintenance hangars. Minister Tran Hong Minh urged units to accelerate work, implementing a “3-shift, 4-team” continuous construction schedule to maximize time, manpower, and equipment, thereby expediting progress without compromising quality.
The Minister emphasized that all components must be completed before June 2026, ready to serve Long Thanh Airport’s operations as planned. He stressed that construction sites must be kept clean and tidy at all times.
Inspecting the terminal and other components, the Minister acknowledged and praised the efforts of investors, consultants, and contractors in adhering to schedules and implementing scientific, methodical construction practices.
Minister Tran Hong Minh instructed units to maintain high construction momentum, ensuring synchronization between components and uniformity in technical, architectural, and landscape aspects.
He emphasized that the Long Thanh Airport construction site must not only be fast but also beautiful, green, and clean. Each completed component must meet quality, technical, and aesthetic standards, befitting a modern, environmentally friendly, 5-star international airport.
Regarding external connectivity, the Minister highlighted the need to focus on the surrounding transportation network alongside airport components, ensuring smooth and seamless connections.

Inspecting the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway construction progress in Dong Nai According to Project Management Unit 85, Component 2 of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Phase 1 has reached over 80% of its construction value. The investor is focusing on completing the main route. The main route is scheduled for completion and operation by February 14, 2026 (before the Lunar New Year), with the entire project expected to finish in April 2026. Mr. Nguyen Linh, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Province’s Project Management Board, stated that Component 1, approximately 16 km long, involves 2 construction packages with 12 contractors. To date, the total value of work completed is nearly 70% of the contract value, with many critical components being implemented simultaneously. Contractors are working overtime to make up for delays, striving to complete the project on schedule and with quality, contributing to the formation of a strategic transportation axis connecting Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, and various regions to Long Thanh Airport. Inspecting the site, Minister Tran Hong Minh commended contractors for their active construction efforts, meeting basic progress requirements. However, he urged units to accelerate further, ensuring the Dong Nai section connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh Airport is ready for operation before Tet. The Ministry of Construction leader required synchronized, scientific construction, ensuring quality, aesthetics, safety, and readiness for Tet traffic. Contractors must maximize equipment and manpower, supplementing resources as needed to complete remaining work. “All units must work quickly without sacrificing quality, absolutely preventing incidents upon project commissioning,” the Minister emphasized. |
