The conference aimed to evaluate the outcomes of 2025’s economic and social initiatives, while also implementing resolutions from the Government, Provincial Party Committee, and People’s Council. It further outlined key targets, tasks, and strategies for 2026, targeting departments, agencies, and local authorities.
In his report, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Tuan Thanh, highlighted that despite numerous challenges in 2025—particularly due to storms and flooding—the province achieved significant progress. GRDP grew by 7.2%, with a positive economic shift: services at 38.60%, industry and construction at 28.62%, and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries at 28.84%.
During the year, Gia Lai attracted 192 investment projects, totaling over VND 160 trillion. State budget revenue exceeded VND 28.4 trillion, surpassing the central target by 37.8% and increasing 24.1% year-on-year. Public investment disbursement reached VND 14.7 trillion, or 96.6% of the plan.
Culture, education, healthcare, and social welfare remained priorities. The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing was completed two months ahead of schedule. Administrative reforms yielded notable results, with 98.6% of applications processed on time or early, and the province ranking 2nd out of 34 in the “Service to Citizens and Businesses” index. National defense and security were maintained effectively.
As the first year implementing the 14th Party Congress’s resolutions and the Provincial Party Committee’s 2025–2030 term resolutions, 2026 holds critical importance. The People’s Council approved 19 economic and social targets for the year, including an 8% GRDP growth (aiming for over 10%); industrial output growth of 9.5–10.5%; export turnover of USD 3.1 billion; state budget revenue of VND 27.871 trillion; 67.6% of the workforce trained; poverty rate reduced to 1.43%; 2,000 social housing units completed; and forest coverage reaching 46.2%.
Additionally, the Provincial People’s Committee set 11 aspirational targets, such as VND 218.7 trillion in retail sales; 15 million tourist arrivals; 170 new investment projects; 7,000 new businesses established; and full disbursement of public investment funds.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized that while the 2026 targets are ambitious, they serve as a catalyst for the province to strive for double-digit growth. The People’s Committee urged all levels, sectors, and localities to unite, innovate, and act decisively to achieve these goals successfully.
