Dubbed the “most expensive road on the planet” with a cost exceeding $300 million, the Ring Road 1 project (Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc) is gradually taking shape.

As the outermost houses are demolished to make way for a 50-meter-wide road, inner structures are unexpectedly revealed, becoming prime frontage properties along Ring Road 1.

Along De La Thanh Street, debris from demolished structures is being swiftly cleared. Excavators work continuously to remove rubble, broken bricks, and other waste, freeing up space. Meanwhile, workers manually clean the area, coordinating with machinery to prepare the site for the next project phases.

Within the Ring Road 1 project scope, many houses, trimmed to fit the land clearance boundaries, are being repaired and structurally enhanced.

Many residential buildings, previously located in alleys, now face Ring Road 1. From a price of just over $3,500 per square meter in the alley, homeowners are astonished as their properties transform into prime street-front homes, valued at up to $20,000 per square meter.

Mrs. Lan Phuong (Giang Vo Ward) shares that to facilitate demolition and repairs, her family had to move all belongings to the rear of the house, leaving the front area for construction work.

After land clearance, the National Hospital of Pediatrics and Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital are now directly connected to the main road, improving access for patients and emergency services.

Several houses have been swiftly rebuilt after the land clearance areas were demolished.

Houses once hidden in narrow, damp alleys now boast prime frontage in the capital’s most valuable areas.

On-site, construction waste is being urgently cleared by machinery and workers to prepare for the next project stages.

At the Ring Road 1 intersections with Nguyen Chi Thanh and Giang Vo, machinery and workers are deployed to construct overpasses, a key project component.

Scheduled for completion in 2026, the Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc section of Ring Road 1 is expected to alleviate inner-city traffic congestion and support infrastructure development and urban landscape enhancement as per approved plans.
