Recently, social media has been abuzz with images of a meticulously arranged Tet feast, complete with all the traditional dishes. What’s noteworthy is that this feast isn’t from a restaurant or external catering service but is being sold directly at Aeon Mall—one of Vietnam’s largest and most familiar shopping center chains.
The images quickly captured attention, tapping into the mindset of many families today: year-end busyness, deadlines, holiday shopping, and the reluctance to tackle a cluttered kitchen. A ready-to-serve Tet feast, complete with all the dishes, is indeed a tempting option. Plus, the feast in the photos looks quite appealing, neatly presented, and embodies the essence of a traditional Tet meal.
Observations made on the evening of January 11, 2026, at Aeon Mall Long Biên (Hanoi) confirm that this product isn’t just a viral sensation but is actually available in the food section. The displayed sample feast matches the images widely shared on social media platforms. Alongside the sample is a detailed information board titled “Tet Family Reunion Feast 2026,” listing the dishes and their prices.
According to the menu, the Tet feast includes a total of 10 dishes, all familiar staples of Vietnamese Tet meals. Highlights include sticky rice with gac, braised pork with eggs, pork in gelatin, mango and pig ear salad, stir-fried assorted vegetables, bamboo shoot and pig trotter soup, bitter melon stuffed with meat, fried spring rolls, Tet pork pie set, and the centerpiece—steamed free-range chicken with scallions, often considered the “soul” of the Tet feast.
Each dish is priced individually, depending on portion size and customer choice. For instance, sticky rice with gac costs around 39,200 VND per portion, braised pork with eggs is about 30,000 VND per 100g, mango and pig ear salad is around 49,000 VND per portion, bamboo shoot and pig trotter soup is about 54,000 VND per portion, and steamed free-range chicken with scallions costs up to 245,400 VND per chicken. Depending on customer selection, the total price ranges from 500,000 to 800,000 VND per feast. The information also notes that this price does not include tableware.
Additionally, Aeon Mall offers free delivery within a 10km radius for orders over 300,000 VND, making it even more convenient for families without time to visit the store.
As soon as this information spread, people were intrigued. Some found it a reasonable solution for small families with little time to cook but still wanting a full Tet atmosphere. Others deemed the price appropriate for a supermarket offering, with traceable ingredients and ready-to-serve convenience, saving time and effort during the busy year-end season.
Ms. Phương Anh (Hanoi) shared, “I never thought a supermarket would sell a complete Tet feast, and it looks just like a homemade meal. I think the price of 500,000 – 800,000 VND per feast is quite reasonable, especially since food prices have risen. I plan to buy one for the upcoming holiday since everyone in my family is busy with work and has little time to prepare.”
Whether praised or criticized, it’s undeniable that supermarkets selling ready-made Tet feasts reflect a new consumer trend: Tet remains abundant, but preparation methods are becoming more flexible. The most intriguing question now is: for a 10-dish feast priced between 500,000 and 800,000 VND, do you think it’s worth investing in a stress-free Tet celebration?
